Good morning.
It gives me great pleasure to join you today for the Graduate Recruitment Fair. On behalf of the Consulate General of China in Düsseldorf, I wish to extend my warmest congratulations on the convening of this notable event.
This gathering has been realized through dedicated effort, and it could not be more timely. In the wake of the successful high-level bilateral talks between China and Germany this spring, this recruitment Fair in Aachen stands as a tangible step to implement the strategic understanding reached by our two national leaders, to further advance the China-Germany comprehensive strategic partnership. It is an initiative worthy of full appreciation and great promise.
Public data indicates that German multinational corporations recruit close to 10,000 outstanding young graduates from Chinese higher education institutions annually for their operations in China. The Chinese government and society at large have always embraced such talent collaboration with open arms and sincere goodwill, and we deeply value and gratefully acknowledge the positive contributions of German enterprises in talent development, industrial cooperation and job creation.
China has never framed normal university-enterprise talent exchanges and corporate recruitment as threats or technological security risks, nor have we subjected such legitimate cooperation to narrow, over-securitised or over-politicised narratives. In the same vein, we sincerely hope that our German partners will view such recruitment endeavours with an attitude of equality, fairness and rationality.
Though publicly styled as a recruitment fair for Chinese enterprises, this forum has in fact also brought together a host of distinguished local German businesses. The vacancies on offer span a wide spectrum of vital sectors: next-generation information technology and digital innovation, automotive engineering and intelligent connectivity, high-end equipment and smart manufacturing, new energy and power sectors, as well as cross-border finance and commercial support services.
While catering to the career needs of Chinese international students, these opportunities are fully open to German nationals and students from across the globe. Most roles are based in Germany, serving the broader European market, with select positions also available in China, thus offering you diverse and far-reaching career pathways. These thoughtful arrangements embody the spirit of openness and inclusivity at the heart of this event, reflect the long-standing ethos of academic openness and collaborative excellence upheld by RWTH Aachen University and other German institutions, and exemplify the genuine equality and mutual benefit that define China-Germany university-enterprise cooperation.
Beyond recruitment matchmaking, the event features a dedicated roundtable session. I look forward to listening attentively as delegates engage in thoughtful dialogue on industrial trends, talent cultivation and cross-sector collaboration, exchanging insights and forging common ground.
On behalf of the Consulate General, I wish to express my deepest gratitude to all those who have made this event possible. My thanks go to the Chinese Enterprises Association and the Chinese Scholars and Students Association of North Rhine-Westphalia for their meticulous planning and organisation, building a direct and effective bridge between enterprises and young talent. I thank the participating Chinese and German businesses for their commitment to nurturing young professionals and offering invaluable career prospects. I also extend my appreciation to the Aachen City Council and RWTH Aachen University for their generous support, which has ensured the smooth running of this gathering. And I am grateful to friends and business leaders across Germany for your enduring commitment to China-Germany friendship and the advancement of youth development.
Ladies and gentlemen,
I should like to share a few earnest words with you, the young graduates present today.
